PROFILES
CVM is searching for Country Representative with strong experience in the field of International
Cooperation in field work, staff management and donor requirements.
Short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview. The selected candidates will receive an
induction and training on CVM manuals and procedures.
MAIN FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Programme Management and Quality Management
Represent CVM in Tanzania
Ensure leadership and program quality by overseeing and guiding the Project Managers
Ensure that all projects are implemented in coherence with the CVM strategy and country
context, and that contingency plans and corrective measures are applied whenever needed
Monitor and supervise planning of projects activities, ensuring effective delivery in line
with all donors’ regulations, country legislation and professional standards
Coordinate with Project Coordinator and Finance Manager to ensure satisfactory
management of project budgets for projects
Supervise high quality compiling and timely submission of all internal and external reports,
Lead on the development of cross-cutting themes in project design and implementation
Ensure quality criteria and indicators are monitored and leads to decision making
Project Coordination and Implementation
Lead CVM projects implementation within its area of intervention, ensuring
complementarity and synergy and avoiding overlapping with other actors’ interventions
Support the development of donor’s proposal in close collaboration with relevant staff and
local authorities at field level and in HQ in order to secure and develop the program
operational scope
Support the development of operational and technical tools & frameworks
Ensure that the operations implemented are in accordance with the local culture and the
mandate and values of the organization
Negotiate, develop and ensure the implementation of partnership agreements in the area
of intervention
Strategic Direction
Collaborate with the Project Coordinator Italy to develop long-term strategic vision
Identify funding opportunities, initiate and data collection initiatives, and develop
competitive, responsive proposals in collaboration with the Projects Coordinator and
projects team
Support and maintain strategic alliances and partnerships with a wide range of
stakeholders including national and local authorities, donors, multilateral agencies,
partners and CVM HQ
Institutional representation
Ensure that procedures, tools and guides are updated and implemented
Represent CVM at higher level, including National Conferences, National Meetings,
Regional Workshops feeding back to the HQ coordinator on relevant issues
Provides effective CVM representation to donors, national and local authorities, partners
and other relevant stakeholders in the country
HR Management
Supervise and mentor project staff, including setting performance objectives, establishing a
supportive environment while emphasizing accountability
Ensure proper communication within the project team and between teams, making sure
that the strategy, decisions and future endeavours are shared in a transparent manner
Ensure transparent, equal and inclusive recruitment, management and training of human
resources in accordance with the policy and procedures
Foster an inclusive and diverse work environment, and ensure that the highest standards
of conduct are observed
REQUIREMENTS
Degree or equivalent in the field of Social or Political Science, Development Studies,
Economics, International relations, Project Management, Human Rights.
Knowledge of main donors’ policies and procedures (EU, UN Agencies, Italian Cooperation)
Proven knowledge and experience in projects in Gender Development, Child Development
and Rights and the relevant International Conventions. Migration flows within country and
international.
Good computer skills, in particular MS Office package
Fluent in English both written and verbal, Kswahili will be a plus
Professional experience
At least 5 years of relevant working experience in humanitarian or development settings
Working experience with international NGOs in management of international cooperation
projects funded by institutional and private donors
Proven experience in Project Cycle Management
Proven experience in project proposal writing.

CVM project address water supply, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, education and training for
orphaned children, street children, and disadvantaged girls, rights of girls and women as domestic
workers, rural development, agriculture, and soil conservation. CVM projects have been co
financed by Irish Aid, CEI, AICS, as well as private entities. It is a member of FOCSIV and
